Visiting the 80+1 basecamp it’s astonishing to observe how people seem compelled to use the various forms of video connections to flip the finger to complete strangers halfway around the world (this happened twice in 5 minutes, using this and this). I increasingly believe that John Gabriel’s greater internet fuckwad theory applies to all forms of online communication and should be at the heart of any and all considerations when designing for online communities. Also, people are bastards.
