Networks and Power panel
I’m slowly getting into festival mode, no notes to post so far. Hopefully this‚Äôll change soon. In the meantime, wired news got a short article about this years ars electronica festival.
So far i’ve attended three language of networks events: the evening lecture about group dynamics at the amundsen-scott south pole station, which i found both interesting and entertaining, panel 4: networks and power and panel 6: networks and business, which i found a little dull, but then that’s not quite my area of interest.
Most interesting imho was Josh Ons talk during the networks and power panel: during the first part of his talk he presented two projects he’s been involved with, both really fascinating stuff: communiculture and they rule which i’ve already played around with before, but seeing a short demo by the creator really opened my eyes on how useful a tool this can be.
After that he basically hijacked the panel to push his own political views. I guess this could’ve been vastly annoying if i wouldn’t share some of his views, but this way it was rather interesting and to some degree entertaining.
