New Handspring smartphone coming soon
Handspring will announce a new smartphone within three months and release it in this fall. I’m really excited how it compares to samsungs new palm os 5 smartphone.
PDAs trapped between tablets and smartphones?
Pdas don’t just face stiff competition from the smartphone camp, but also from upcoming supersmall tablet pcs as brighthand mentions in this article. I would really appreciate small, affordable (let’s say sub-$1000) tablets. My new smartphone not only replaced my cellphone, but also my pda. Now i’m looking for some small, portable, lightweight device to watch movies, listen to music or surf the net. I already considered pocket pcs, but their small screen isn’t a suitable solution for movie playback or websurfing. If just those rumors about an 8" apple tablet would finally prove true…
Goliath vs. Goliath
Ed hansberry of ppcthoughts argues wether palm os or ppc are easier to use in an article published in pocket pc magazine. I was surprised that he didn’t clearly favor ppc (given the magazine this article was published in), but it ends in a tie. Of course he can’t resist to comment on this and that you can’t do on an out-of-the-box palm.
Controller/keyboard hybrid for PS2

iPAQ h5600?
Brighthand asks "what happened the ipaq h5600?" and isn’t afraid to answer.
Icon Changer for Series60 smartphones
I’m not sure why i didn’t link this earlier, i’ve been following this thread since the first day; however, j2k is currently developing an app to customize the menu icons of series60 smartphones, and he plans to release it as freeware! I’m really excited about that, i hope there’ll pop up some nice mac os x iconpacks soon. Or even better - mac os x themes, whole series60 aquafied (is that the correct term? feel free to correct me if not)!

One megapixel camphones announced by NTT Docomo
Mobile burn got info on ntt docomos new phone line-up consisting of 6 phones by fujitsu, sharp, sony ericsson, nec, matsushita and mitsubishi. Furthermore they got several pics of the new sony-ericsson model (imho revolutionary and very fresh device). Three of them offer integrated one megapixel digicams and therefore rival current low-end digicams. Too bad none of those will make its way out of japan…
